Natural Resources Technician II

The Natural Resources Technician II (Technician II) works on a wide variety of environmental projects to support the Pulikla Tribe of Yurok People Department of Natural Resources. This position requires a willingness to learn and the ability to conduct technical, scientific, educational activities in both field and office settings, under the direction of the Natural Resources Manager, or designee. The Technician II may be involved in projects that include Indigenous Traditional Knowledge and environmental data collection and monitoring activities related to subsistence, ceremonial and culturally important marine, fisheries, and wildlife species and habitats; human and environmental health work including water quality monitoring, solid waste management, cleanup and waste reduction; environmental education and outreach; and Tribal efforts to address the impacts from climate change on Tribal citizens and ancestral territory.

Housing Policies and Procedures

The Pulikla Tribe of Yurok People (“Tribe”) is seeking a qualified individual (Consultant) to develop housing policies and procedures. The Pulikla Tribe of Yurok People is a federally recognized Tribe, located on the northern coast of California in Del Norte County, about forty (40) miles south of the Oregon border. Tribal lands contain approximately 455 acres along the south bank of the Klamath River and a portion of the adjacent mountainside.

The Tribe desires a qualified Consultant to develop housing policies and procedures that comply with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Tribal legal requirements. The Consultant will work with the Tribe’s Planner, Housing Committee and Tribal Council to ensure the policies are developed in a timely manner and consider all requirements. This project will assist the Tribe to establish HUD compliant Housing Rehabilitation Policies and Procedures to implement housing rehabilitation projects from funding it has received funding from HUD. This project will also assist the Tribe to establish Tribe compliance Downpayment and Housing Rehabilitation Policies and Procedures to implement housing projects funding Tribal and other non-federal funds, such as the Tribal Nations Grant Fund.

Beginning February 2026, this 6-month project will be completed by the end of July 2026.
